At Career+™, we are dedicated to providing students with valuable career experiences that allow them to grow as individuals and become prepared for the workforce. As a part of that mission, this summer, we are inviting our local high school students to advance their career readiness through our dynamic Skills Bootcamps.
Immersive Learning through Skills Bootcamps
Skills Bootcamps are an invaluable part of our Career+ Ecosystem. They provide students with immersive experiences that guide them on a journey towards career preparation. Through these experiences, students attend a total of at least 12 hours of career learning sessions that equip them with the essential skills they need for the first day on the job, allowing them to feel prepared to transition from school to the workforce. In addition, these Skills Bootcamps provide students with a place to connect with potential employers and demonstrate their workforce readiness. By connecting students with employers, these Skills Bootcamps provide employers with the opportunity to offer positions to those students who show promise. Between the career skills earned and the opportunities for networking, Career+ Skills Bootcamps are designed to provide students with the foundation they need to triumph in the workforce.
Launching Careers at Catapult Summer Training
This year, we’re kicking off our summer Skills Bootcamps with our Catapult Summer Training experience! In Indiana, manufacturing is a high-demand industry that only continues to grow, and Catapult is devoted to launching students into this lucrative industry through their thoughtfully developed course. The program provides classroom learning on essential advanced manufacturing topics such as lean manufacturing, problem solving, critical thinking, and teamwork. The course also goes beyond the classroom by providing hands-on practice with fundamental manufacturing skills and assembly techniques. Throughout the course of the Skills Bootcamp, students will gain the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the industry and grow into leadership roles with Indiana companies.
This experience will be an excellent investment in any student’s current and future success. The insights they gain into the manufacturing industry will qualify them for work at many local advanced manufacturing and logistics companies. In addition, eligible students (juniors or seniors in high school) can earn up to $15 per hour during the bootcamp, combining education with financial benefits. Each participant also has the potential to leave the program with a job offer, thanks to Catapult’s commitment to connect students with industry leaders. Finally, the Catapult Summer Training experience serves as a valuable stepping stone for graduating high school, providing experiential, hands-on learning that instills confidence in students regarding their intended career path
The Catapult Summer Training experience takes place from June 3, 2024 through July 3, 2024. Sessions take place Monday through Friday from 8 am- 3 pm at the Greater Lafayette Career Academy.
