Reimagining Curriculum for a Career-Connected Future

By Fatima Fofanah

At Skyepack, we believe curriculum should do more than meet academic standards, it should prepare students for life beyond the classroom. For years, we’ve partnered with colleges and universities to develop customized, affordable, and engaging digital course materials.

That same foundation now extends to K–12 through our Career+™ Framework which lives right within the Skyepack platform. Together, they represent one continuous mission: designing curriculum that connects learning to the world of work.

One Platform, One Mission

Skyepack and Career+™ aren’t separate entities, they’re part of one unified vision for student success. Using the same platform and resources, our team develops curriculum that not only supports academic learning but also integrates real-world career experiences.

Whether it’s a college student exploring industry-based projects or a high school student discovering their career interests, everything happens within the same Skyepack ecosystem — a single, connected space for learning and career exploration.

Extending Our Curriculum Expertise to K–12

Our work in higher education has shaped how we approach curriculum for K–12. The principles of flexibility, relevance, and engagement remain the same but we tailor the content and experiences to meet younger learners where they are.

Through Career+ Pathways™ , we build career-connected pathways for students in grades 8–12, helping them explore local industries, develop employability skills, and engage in authentic work-based learning opportunities. We also participate in activities designed to meet younger students where they are and introduce them to careers in ways that are meaningful and fun. For example, Career+™ helped students learn more about careers in robotics and manufacturing by participating in Robotics Camp 2025. During the camp, our team led interactive stations focused on coding, circuitry, and exploring supply chain and logistics opportunities, giving students a hands-on introduction to high-demand STEM fields.

By extending our higher ed experience to K–12, we ensure students begin thinking about their futures earlier with learning experiences that grow alongside them.

Employer-Connected Learning in Action

Skyepack’s employer-connected learning model brings real industry insights directly into the classroom. In higher education, we collaborate with institutions that integrate project-based learning, internships, and employer partnerships into their courses.

A great example of this connection is at the University of Nebraska , which offers dual credit opportunities for high school students through a program that includes 13 courses designed on the Skyepack platform.

We’ve also partnered with Waukesha County Technical College in Wisconsin to create a Medical Terminology course that launched in 2018. This dual credit course is now used in 10 different high schools , allowing students to earn college credit while exploring a pathway into healthcare careers.

These initiatives demonstrate how Skyepack’s approach to curriculum design helps bridge high school and higher education. We are creating a smoother transition from classroom learning to real-world application.

We’re also connecting students in k-12 to many career-connected learning opportunities. Not only do we provide courses designed to help these students plan for their future careers, but we also have a variety of experiences available through local employers allowing students to directly engage with workplaces. These experiences can help students decide to pursue careers in certain fields, and offer insight into what employment with those businesses may entail.

The Future of Curriculum is Connected Learning

At Skyepack, we see curriculum development and career-connected learning as two sides of the same coin. Our work is driven by a single purpose: to make learning meaningful and to connect every student to opportunity.

By combining our expertise in digital curriculum design with our growing network of employer partnerships, we’re helping schools and colleges prepare students not just for graduation, but for lifelong success.
